Estimated Readings Due to Snowfall

With this weekend’s expected snowfall, the road conditions may prevent Pepco meter readers from obtaining readings for a large number of customer accounts.  In the absence of meter readings, Pepco has estimated consumption for accounts where meter readings were not obtained. Estimates are based on the most recent consumption history of each account and are adjusted for variations in weather during the billing period.

For your understanding, meter readings are cumulative.  So, if the estimation was off, later readings would identify the error and an adjustment would be made to the billing.  Therefore, next month Pepco will make every effort to read your meter, and any differences between the actual and estimated readings will be automatically accounted for in calculating you’re your next bill.

I hope this doesn’t pose too much of an inconvenience, but we thought it was only right to share this with you.
